Introduction to the Task Builder

What is the Task Builder

The Task Builder is used to visually construct the steps that an AutoMate task should carry out when it is run (either manually or triggered). The following important tools are encompassed by the Task Builder

-Drag-and-drop task construction from over 100 available actions

-Popup Expression Builder containing hundreds of functions for constructing dynamic data calculations and/or formatting

-Debugging capabilities such as stepping, breakpoints and watches.

-Wizards (such as the Recorder Wizard) automated task framework generation

What the Task Builder Does Not Do

The Task Builder is used to build and test task specific actions or steps that should be carried out when the task is run (or triggered automatically), it does not handle anything involving triggering (such as scheduling the task) or system settings - for this use the Task Administrator.
